Different materials used
Whilst all synthetic turf is made from plastic, there is variation in the type of plastic used. Most commonly, artificial grass is made from either polypropylene, polyethylene, or nylon.
Polypropylene
Polypropylene artificial grass is one of the most common materials, due to its cheap price point and great durability, making it popular with families and in busy gardens.

Polyethylene

It is a coarse texture, so is not as soft as other materials, however, the strength is what makes it stand out from the rest when used in high-footfall areas.
The downside to nylon is that it is more expensive than polypropylene and polyethylene, so will cost more initially. However, the durability of nylon artificial grass means it can have a longer lifespan when used in high-traffic areas, making it a more cost-effective option in the long term.
